Project Name:
Project 1: Legislative Information Management
This is a joint project proposal from Alberta Justice and Solicitor General (via Legal Counsel) and Technology & Innovation (via Alberta King's Printer) aimed at streamlining the life cycle of legislative documents, from drafting to consolidation to publishing in open and accessible formats. Using open data standards and a powerful content management environment will significantly reduce production timelines, greatly improving access to legislation. By redesigning the Alberta King's Printer website, Technology & Innovation will be able to support an improved user experience that addresses mobile accessibility, XML content, and the needs of persons with disabilities. This will benefit all persons who require timely access to the legislation, including all GoA ministries, Executive Council, the Legislative Assembly, the legal community, and the general public.
Project 2: Integrate Ambient Data into Data Management Platform (DMP)
Business is pursuing a phased approach to the centralization of both ambient and operational data in a single platform that allows for visual and geospatial data presentation. This initiative aligns with the objectives of Pillar 3 of the Minister's Water Mandate.
Project 3 Timely Water Use Reporting
Business is pursuing a solution that would allow water licensees to automatically submit water usage data. This will reduce manual effort required by licensees to report, reduce errors, increase compliance, and allow the GOA to leverage water reporting functionalities in Digital Regulatory Assurance System.
